Description: Redondo Beach Steam Station - Plant #1 - On the temporary trestle extending into the sea in front of Southern California Edison Co. new steam station at Redondo Beach a giant shovel digs trenches in the ocean floor. Intake and discharge conduits for ocean water, to be used in the operation of the plant, are being laid in the submarine trenches.
