Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
The SS Canberra operated as an ocean liner for the P&O fleet from 1961-1997. Named after Canberra, the federal capitol of Australia, she was launched on March 16, 1960. In addition to her ocean liner service, she appeared in the 1971 James Bond film, Diamonds Are Forever, and served as a troopship in 1982 during the Falklands War. She was withdrawn from service on September 30, 1997 and was scrapped by the end of 1998.
