Photograph caption dated November 3, 1982 reads, "Bitter signs of protest appear near UCLA's Murphy Hall where about 150 people gathered yesterday to demonstrate against a forthcoming visit by Andre Breedt, director of student services at South Africa's University of Pretoria. Makani Themba, chairwoman of the Black Students Alliance, said her group sponsored the hourlong rally to protest the South African government's racial policies."
