Description: The Parākrama Samudra or Sea of King Parākramabāhu the Great is the largest of over 160 major tanks or reservoirs built by the king, absorbing two earlier tanks (Topaveva, 4th century CE) and Dimbutuluveva. As now restored, the bund is 8.5 miles long and 40 feet in height, covering an area of 5350 acres.
