Description
“Rev. John Inglis D. D.” Studio portrait of the missionary John Inglis (1808-1891), who worked from Aname which was on the opposite side of the island from John Geddie of Nova Scotia. Geddie pioneered the Aneityum [Anatom] mission station in 1848 and over a hundred converts were made by 1853. John Inglis and his wife joined him in 1853, commissioned by the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Scotland. In the New Hebrides: Reminiscences of Missionary Life and Work was published in 1887.
