Recorded as part of the Lambda Archives of San Diego's 20th anniversary. Bob Nelson is a member of the Board of Directors of The San Diego LGBT Community Center. He has served on the Finance Committee of the Greater San Diego Business Association and on the Advisory Board for the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation. Nelson is currently a member of the board of directors and secretary-treasurer of both the San Diego Convention Center Corporation and San Diego Theaters Corporation, operator of San Diego Civic Theater and Balboa Theater. Nelson has also served as a member of Deputy Mayor Toni Atkinsí transition team pending election of Mayor Jerry Sanders, and as a member of Mayor Dick Murphyís LGBT Advisory Committee, among many other capacities.
