But, a group of Valley junior high school students have found that it's never too young to study the finer points of budgeting meals. 'We have homemaking classes at school,' said red-haired Debbie Kabuss, 13. 'But, I think the best way to learn something is to actually do it.' Debbie and the 33 other members of the Cadette Girl Scout Troop at Van Nuys Junior High School have been taking turns preparing and serving dinner for 45 Red Cross Volunteers and staff at a bloodmobile at the Red Cross Service Center in Van Nuys. About every other week five of the girls meet in the home of one of their mothers to cook most of the meal ahead of time." Photograph caption reads, "…At right, Debbie Kabuss, 13, and Marilyn Silver, 14, spread dough for Cherry Cake dessert.
