Description
Black and white photograph showing a European churchyard at Calabar, a burial place for European missionaries. The churchyard is filled with stone, carved gravestones and crosses and looks onto a body of water. it is surrounded by greenery. The caption to this image reads: "European Churchyard at Calabar. Cross on right - Miss Annie Dodds." Miss Dodds was a missionary for the Methodist Missionary Society. This photograph was pasted into one of a series of exercise book albums created by Emily Godfrey, Matron of the Ama Achara Methodist Hospital run by the Methodist Missionary Society in modern Abia state, southeast Nigeria.
