Hopi man on ladder leading down to a kiva. Title transcribed from item. Signed on mount: "Frederick Monsen." Monsen's typed label on back says: "The Kiva of the Snake Clan at Walpi, Hopi Pueblo on the first mesa. Kivas are underground chambers used by the men for religious purposes."
