Description
Photograph of exterior aerial view of a factory, showing a railroad track in the background, ca.1940. At center, a large, square factory structure is seen sitting in a desolate dirt lot. The roof of the factory is greatly ridged, and various equipment and vents can be seen. Several windows line the side of the factory, and two entrances can be seen on the left side. One of the entrances is attached directly to the building, while the other leads to a small rectangular room adjacent to the main structure. A similar structure is seen at the front of the building. An entryway from the street near the front leads to a large rectangular building adjacent to the main factory structure. Two patches of plants frame this entryway to the building. The left of the building, an American flag can be seen hanging from a pole in a small mound of shrubbery. A large fence circles the perimeter of the factory separating it from the street. In the extreme foreground to the left and right, large lines of cars are seen parked in dirt lots. Several of the cars can be seen parking near the utility poles lining the streets. In the extreme background, a long train moves along a set of railroad tracks moving from the left to the right. Small buildings and a road can be seen beyond the tracks.
