Photograph article dated March 13, 1954 reads, "Ronny Dean, 14, has been selected by Lloyd Crawford, circulation Branch Manager for San Fernando, as one of the outstanding newspaperboys in that area. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, Ronny has delivered the Valley Times for more than a year and now more than one hundred satisfied subscribers receive his services daily. Since obtaining his route, Ronny has purchased a new bicycle and provided himself with ample spending money. His manager reports an outstanding record for him in all phases of delivering, collecting, selling and servicing Valley Times subscribers. This outstanding youngster has also participated in the Catalina, Ocean Park Pier and the San Francisco Valley Times circulation department excursion contests, winning awards in all three events conducted by the Valley Times. Ronny is just one of the many such boys who daily deliver your Valley Times."
