Description
Colonel Thomas Baker, Iowa's first Lieutenant Governor, Colonel of the Iowa Territorial Militia, developer, lawyer, surveyor, member of the California State Senate and entrepreneur. He founded Bakersfield, California. He died of typhoid fever in Bakersfield in 1872.
