Photograph caption dated July 20, 1965 reads "Capt. Ramona Gast, on weekends a squadron flight nurse and weekdays a school nurse at Portola Junior High School, Tarzana, demonstrates typical day aboard a C97G Stratofreighter. Airmen serve as patients being evacuated from trouble spots to hospital bases while, from left, Airmen Doug Young and William Ryan receive instructions from Capt. Gast on care and feeding of 'patients.'" The article partially reads "Their squadron is part of the California National Guard and is stationed here in the Valley--in a sprawling complex of drafty hangars and tall buildings at Van Nuys Airport."; See images #00130526 through #00130527 for all photos in this series.
