Goldfin...is in the West Valley jail on suspicion of armed robbery after being thwarted Tuesday afternoon in an effort to escape with $3,560 from the First Western Bank, 19740 Ventura Blvd., Tarzana. Goldfin...was chased and captured less than 200 yards from the front door of the bank, after pretending to have a gun to force a teller to give him the money. He told West Valley Det. Sgt. George Murphy he had been out of work for two months and needed the money to make long-overdue payments on his house and car to keep from losing them."
