Description
A closed gate blocks the entrance to the Winchester mansion from present-day Winchester Boulevard. The gate is supported by white stone pillars. A driveway leads from the gate through a garden to the front door. To the right partially obscured by foliage is the tower that was the tallest part of the house. The tower fell during the 1906 quake and was not rebuilt. Doors leading to the tower were sealed off, which after her death added to the "mystery" about her house.
