Joseph Wambaugh discusses his book, “The Blooding.” He begins by saying that the technique of genetic fingerprinting developed by Alex Jeffreys was used to solve the case of two murdered girls in Leicester, England. Wambaugh states that he used fictional techniques to dramatize events and create conversation. He shares that he had the opportunity to attend a dinner with the Queen of England, known as an Officers’ Mess. Wambaugh goes on to talk about the usefulness of genetic technology and the survivors of murder victims.
