Description
V1p377a In PHOTO ALBUM-VAULT: ** fc917.9461 A3, Vol. I, page 377 top. This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco." Text written on photo: "Lunch stand among ruins 5th Street 1906." Text written to right: "When any liquid colored brown was coffee all the same." This lunch stand is actually on the south side of Market just west of 5th. The ruins of Lincoln School are in the left background. Burned-out lots are full of rubble. Two men are standing at the lunch counter, whose sign advertises "Frankfurters, Sour Kraut, Coffee, Cake, and Sandwiches."
