Shown in circa 1993 is the Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse, located at 1 Sacramento Inn Plaza. Operating from 1973 to 1998, the 240-seat venue was a weekends-only spot for pleasing comedies and farces.
Laura Darzell ran the Stagedoor Comedy Playhouse with her husband Jerry Grisham and their friend Bud Rice from its opening until its closing. She produced 102 comedies during her time at the Stagedoor.
