Photograph article dated June 12, 1961 partially reads, "A fourth grade student at the Chandler School in Van Nuys recently gave a 20-minute oral report to his class on radiation and splitting the atom. In the opinion of his teacher, Mrs. Peggy Ayers, the presenttaion [sic] 'was almost up to college level.' No average class of fourth graders would have understood more than a word or two of the gifted youngster's talk. But this particular group of students was an exception. They not only understood - they discussed the report themselves for another half hour." Photograph caption reads, "Chandler fifth graders take science in special class. Mrs. Ayers works with gifted students on individual research projects."
