Photograph of a painting depicting the completion ceremony of the Union Pacific and Central Pacific Railroad at a point near Ogden, Utah, May 9, 1869. A massive group of men and women in what appears to be formal dress crowd around the small section of railroad track that is visible. Three railway workers kneel before driving the last spike. In the background a stopped locomotive engine is visible. A man stands to either side of its smokestack. Caption beneath the photo reads "Photograph Courtesy of the Oregon Historical Society / From the well known painting by Thomas Hill / Driving the Last Spike on the Union and Central Pacific at a Point Near Ogden, Utah, May 9, '69", as well as "In the foreground, beginning from left and prominent in the picture, are the following, in the order named: Stephen T.
