The Industrial Association of the San Fernando Valley was formed in 1949 and is a non-profit organization made up of retailers, banks, chambers of commerce, government agencies and other professional groups and serves to increase employment opportunities and protect the interests of Valley property owners and investors.
Photograph caption dated January 14, 1954 reads, "Dr. Richard Mead, USC marketing professor, tells Industrial Association of San Fernando Valley that this area must prepare for gigantic problems of a 1980 population of 1,848,000." The meeting took place at Eaton's restaurant in Studio City.
