This circa 1900 image depicts an unknown Christian Brothers instructor. Christian Brothers High school is a continuation of an educational order founded by St. John Baptist de La Salle, a priest from France. The education style came to Sacramento in 1876 with the establishment of the St. Patrick Institute at 12th and K streets. The institute eventually became known as Christian Brothers High School.
