Supplementary material reads: "General Antonio Gomez Velazco, Division Minister of Traffic for Mexico, is welcomed to Los Angeles by Chief B.R. Caldwell, Los Angeles Police Traffic Division, on his arrival via Mexicana de Aviacion -- Pan American Airways affiliate. The General, accompanied by his wife, daughter and one aide, Commander Miguel Robles Escabido, is here to attend the annual dinner meeting of the Greater Los Angeles Chapter of the National Safety Council at the Ambassador Cocoanut Grove, Monday, January 26. In the General's welcoming committee were: Bruno Newman, executive committee member of the National Safety Council City Councilman Edward Roybal Sgt. Les Ford and Sgt. Bennie Reyes of the California Highway Patrol and Joseph M. Kaplan of the National Safety Council".
