Description
Photograph of a group portrait of people on the sand in Long Beach, ca.1890. Five women and a young boy are standing in a line at center. The women are all wearing long dresses and hats, except for the one in the middle, who is considerably older than the others. The boy is wearing light-colored clothes and high, dark socks. A man in a dark swimsuit can be seen near the water in the background at right. Large waves are crashing on the shore, and a tall wooden pier juts out from the beach at left.
