Description
Thought for the day by Charles Handy on the importance of living for and enjoying today, and not worrying about tomorrow. Handy begins the thought describing how the holidays are a time for both haste and reflection, and how they provide a space to recharge one's batteries. He proceeds to state that New Year's Day should be around September, as it is the start of a new school year, office reorganization, and all types of resolutions, before moving on to consider how his wife's breast lump scare forced him to reevaluate his life. Handy then wonders, after such moments, what the meaning of life is and what he would want to be remembered for, suggesting that living for each day as if it were the whole of life, and making our individual contributions, is the best approach to making sense of today and tomorrow.
