Photograph caption dated January 17, 1956 reads "Mid-Valley YMCA supporters scan program for dinner which will begin its 1956 sustaining membership campaign at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Kover's Bull Pen in Sherman Oaks. Shown are division leaders of initial gifts section which hopes to raise $12,000 of $30,810 needed for year's operation. From left are James C. Taylor, Gordon N. Gary, Ray M. Johnson, Mrs. James L. Neel, Ross S. Burghardt and Dr. G. Thoburn Randall." The YMCA was located at 14515 Hamlin Street, Van Nuys. A replacement facility, at 6901 Lennox Avenue, Van Nuys, was built in 1961.
