Description
Xin Ling Stein stands next to a person wearing a chicken costume in front of the "Not a Cornfield" field, which is located just north of Chinatown and within half a mile from El Pueblo de Los Angeles Historical Monument. Not a Cornfield, a 32-acre project created by artist Lauren Bon, transformed 32 acres of industrial brownfield into a cornfield for one agricultural cycle. The City of Los Angeles dedicated this field, also known as Southern Pacific's Cornfield Yard, as Cultural Monument #82 for its role as the Southern Pacific's River Station railroad yard. As of 2006, this location became known as Los Angeles State Historic Park. Photo dated October 31, 2005.
