Description
Photograph of the inside of the Seamen's Bethel church located in San Pedro, ca.1905. Fifteen chairs are lined up in five rows in the center of the room with wood benches on the sides. A organ stands at the front (at left). Books are on the seats of some of the chairs. On the back wall is written "Salvation is free for all". Other legible signs include: ..."Jesus Christ", "Help lift the people out of a ship".... Many framed pictures line both side walls and the back wall. Through a doorway into another room at the back of the church, a man (Captain Fry?) seated at a table reading is visible.
