Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated July 8, 1963 partially reads, "Sixteen years ago members of Toluca Guild bought nuts from San Fernando Valley walnut and almond growers. Then they'd make candied nuts to sell at the annual Doll Fair for the benefit of Childrens Hospital in Los Angeles. Today the Valley's walnut and almond groves have been replaced by homes and businesses, but Toluca Guild's nut business is still flourishing. 'We raise more money from our nuts than we do from most of our other projects.' said Mrs. Marline H. Jenkins, North Hollywood, the guild's Doll Fair chairman." Mrs. Marlin Jenkins (left) and Susan Stephens test almonds to be sold at the Doll Fair.; See images #00125112 through #00125114 for all photos in this series.
