Description
Issei female, born November 5, 1892. At age seventeen she came to the United States as a picture bride. The Imadas lived on farmlands raising hops, then strawberries and grapes. A daughter and son were born to them, but the son died at an early age. Minayo was 60 when the family was evacuated to the Fresno Assembly Center, Jerome, Arkansas and Heart Mountain, Wyoming. Local farmer, George Feil, was entrusted with the farm but when the Imadas returned the barn had burned down and possessions stored in the house were gone. Mr. Imada died in 1966; Minayo in 1991.
