Description
Photo Slide of military aircraft taking off at Mather Field. Mather Field began operations in 1918 as a base and flying school for the United States Army Air Corps. After World War I the Army Air Corps deactivated the base, but did return in 1930 to take part in the Air Maneuvers. Mather reactivated in 1941 and remained an active military base until 1993. Taken circa 1930.
