Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated November 13, 1962 partially reads, "To many blind boys and girls in Children's Hospital for the Blind in Los Angeles, Santa Claus is a North Hollywood man who makes and delivers a load of toys several times a year. Bill Barnum, a retired Bendix employe [sic] has been making wooden toys in his garage for more than five years to give to children at the hospital for the blind and Childrens Hospital of Los Angeles, sponsored by the Shrine Club. 'I'm building my stock now, so I can go to the hospitals a week before Christmas,' explains Barnum, standing in a garage piles with little wooden chairs, benches and animals."
