Description
Rows of men in line on field at Columbia University, 1917. In the center are some cameramen with motion picture cameras on tripods. “With the outbreak of World War I he [Carl Louis Gregory] was made a Lieutenant in the U. S. Signal Corps and was stationed at Columbia University where he trained U.S. soldiers in the art of cinematography. He continued in this capacity until the end of the war [1918].”
