Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
Painted by Alexandro C. Maya, this mural represents farmworkers, a Conquistador, and an indigenous man raising the United Farmers Workers (UFW) flag. Our Lady of Guadalupe is above them (upper left) and another indigenous male is seen before a pyramid (right). The symbol and colors of the UFW flag have deep significance: the Aztec eagle represents the dignity and pride of the workers, its black color signifies their struggle, white behind the eagle represents hope, and the red is for their sacrifice.
