Charles Handy thought for the day on working to make the world better for one's children, and other people's children, as well. Handy begins the thought discussing how parents in Britain can now have up to thirteen weeks of unpaid leave during the first five years of their child's life. He proceeds to note how the words of Robert Fulghum and his book on kindergarten still resonate today and should be practiced by adults as well as children. Handy closes the thought contending that, if the world is to go on successfully, people should be focused on making the world a better place for children and helping them to cope with it better than their parents did.
