Stedet er grundlagt i 1923 af missionær, ingeniør Eli Bøgh og missionslæge Boe Bojesen Bøgh, og har gennem mange år været en foregangsinstitution, hvor havebrug og landbrug indgår som led i terapien samtidig med, at det bidrager til koloniens økonomi. (Stedet blev senere overdraget til Den Internationale Spedalskhedsmission/TLMI)

Description: From Saldoha Leprosy Colony, Mohulpahari, Santal Parganas, North India, December 1983. The colony is founded in 1923 by Missionary, Engineer, Eli Bøgh and Missionary Doctor Boe Bojesen Bøgh, and has for many years been a model institution with farming and gardening activities as part of the therapy, and as a contribution to the economy, as well. (Later Saldoha was handed over to The Leprosy Mission International/TLMI).
