Description: In Anaheim, Rod Carew and Angels manager Gene Mauch walk away with the base that will be presented to Carew in honor of his 3,000th career hit. The one that put him in the record books, along with 15 others to reach the 3,000 mark, was a bloop single to right off Minnesota pitcher Frank Viola. Photo dated: August 5, 1985.
