Promotional photograph from Marriott's Great America: World's Tallest Roller Coaster -- The Tidal Wave at Marriott's Great America in Santa Clara, California is 142.5 screaming feet tall, the world's tallest roller coaster track. Riders on The Tidal Wave are called "survivors." They accelerate from zero to 55 miles per hour in 4.2 seconds and scream into this 76-foot high loop, then straight up the track. Near the top, they stop and fall through the loop backwards!
