Description
This black and white photograph showcases the Necchi Sewing Center at 2422 Maryal Drive in the Del Paso Manor Shopping Center in 1953. Necchi Sewing machines first appeared in the United States in 1948 and when this shot was taken the company was offering a machine with an attachment called a Wonder Wheel that provided semi-automatic sewing. Two years later the Italian-based Necchi marketed a fully automatic machine capable of results never before possible from a family sewing machine.
