Robert Orton
Robert Orton, the 10th sheriff of Santa Cruz County, elected in 1871. As sheriff, he formed part of the posse which captured the stagecoach robbers Albert P. Hamilton and Peter Carr. His obituary appears in the Santa Cruz Morning Sentinel on May 23, 1901, p. 3 col. 3.
