Description
Shown are some of the survivors of Col. "Teddy" Roosevelt's famous "Rough Riders", pictured at their annual reunion in connection with the convention. At extreme left in the front row is Burr McIntosh, actor and radio star who was a war correspondent in Cuba. Of the original 1200 in the regiment, less than one-third are living today, according to members. Their charge up San Juan Hill was one of the epics of American military exploits. A Spanish officer said of the "Rough riders": "They don't know when they are defeated." Photo dated: August 22, 1933.
