The tall central figure in the group to the right of the Buddha figure is of Maithreya Bodhisattva (the fifth Buddha of this aeon). He holds his hands in ahvana mudra, is clad in a dhoti secured by ornate waist bands. The upper torso is bare but for several necklaces. His head is adorned with an ornate jata-makuta; hands are held in ahvana mudrā. The feet appear to have been constructed separately and placed on a step.
