Photograph of the exterior of the Pioneer Saloon on Main Street in Columbia, three miles west of Sonora, ca.1947. The rectangular brick building has a wooden awning that encircles the entire front and right sides. There are two men standing near a doorway at center. The wall at left has three more doorways set into it. There is a bench against the wall at center. The words "Pioneer Saloon" appear on the wall above the bench. This saloon was formerly known as Alberding's Saloon after its original owner and was later known as the St. Charles Saloon.
