Description
"The Kia Tuai Chapel, Hankow. Erected (in 1883 on the site ?) in Hankow 1862-1863 The First Chapel ever built in Central China. The name of the chapel is seen over Central Window. [name in Chinese characters] Gospel Hall."
One of five mounted prints bearing a stamp on the reverse reading, "China Central, Hankow" or "China General Dr. Griffith John". Dr. John served the LMS in China for over fifty years from 1855 to 1912 when he returned to London.
