Description
Caption from November 7, 1982 Sacramento Bee reads, "Student paleontologists dig drainage ditches at the site, near Woodland, where mastodon remains were found last month. The group discovered more skeletal remains and will continue excavating today." "Student paleontologists work to dig small draining canals at mastadon find site. Water must be drained from the find area so work to excavate bones can continue. A possible piece of jawbone was found today but not removed."
