Description
Photograph of an exterior view of the adobe home of Don Leonard Cota on Rancho Rincon near Ontario, ca.1900. The two-story adobe appears to be in disrepair, much of its spackle gone, showing the brick and graffiti scrawled on the back entrance. Barbed-wire fence demarcates the perimeter of the property. A piece of the adobe's roof peeks out to the left from over the building, showing its lack of shingles. Tall, dry grass stands to either side of the dirt path out the outside of the fence. A chair and a milk jug are pictured on the porch to the right. The graffiti reads "B.J. Cota", "Rancho", and "Keep Out". At center, one of the fence posts has been replaced by a cut branch driven into the ground.
