Description
The Bisceglia Brothers frequently used names from their native Italy for brand names. Crati Brand is named after a river in the province of Calabria, the southern-most province in Italy. The label features a beautiful art noveau illustration of California Poppies. Four Bisceglia brothers emigrated from southern Italy to the United States in 1885. The eventually settled in Morgan Hill where they started growing and canning fruit and vegetables. In 1913 the Bisceglia Brothers moved their cannery to Monterey Road in San Jose, California. In 1919 the Bisceglia Brothers Canning Company was the largest cannery in the world and employed 1,000 workers.
