Description: Ten tap dancing afficionados competed in the finals of a competition vying for an appearance in the national finals in New York. It was the first ever Tap Day and cities across the nation took part in festivities. The winner was 10-year-old Zane Taylor of Arleta. Photograph dated February 2, 1989.
