The Turning Basin is visible mid-photo; Los Angeles Main Channel (large channel of water horizontally along middle) flows out into the Pacific Ocean; water flowing at forefront is part of the West Basin. Identifiable areas include: Chevron USA (cylindrical vats, middle); Union Oil Co. (cylindrical vats, middle left); and Shell Oil Co. (cylindrical vats, middle left). The city of Long Beach spans far into the distance. Photograph dated May 7, 1956.
