Photograph of an exterior side view of a French box car used in World War I, ca.1919. The rectangular wooden car is at center and is made of thin horizontal wooden boards. A large square door is in the center of the car. On either side of the railroad car are other cars, and there is an intersection of tracks in the foreground. The box car could be used to transport forty men or eight horses to the front.
